Iran’s Greco-Roman team reaches Las Vegas

Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team arrived in Las Vegas, the United States on Saturday after a long travel from Tehran.
Iran has sent eight wrestlers to the 2015 Greco-Roman World Championships.Hamid Sourian (59kg), Mehdi Zeidvand (66kg), Afshin Biabangard (71kg), Saeid Abdevali (75kg), Yousef Ghaderian (80kg), Habibollah Akhlaghi (85kg), Ghasem Rezaei (98kg) and Mehdi Aliyari (130kg) will represent Iran in the event.
“We have some young wrestlers in our team who will compete for the first time in an international tournament,” head of Iran Wrestling Federation Rasoul Khadem said.
“Our priority is to earn Olympic berth in the competitions. I believe in our young wrestlers since they are highly-motivated and competitive,” he added.
Over 100 nations expected to compete at the World Wrestling Championships in the three Olympic wrestling styles of Greco-Roman, women’s freestyle and men’s freestyle from September 7 to 12.
